Earlier, Governor Andy Besser said 70 people had been killed in the cyclone.
He called it the worst cyclone in Kentucky’s history.
Four separate cyclones were initially thought to have hit Kentucky. One of them is located at a distance of 200 miles. Beshear added that damage was reported in at least 15 counties.
He told CNN the worst was in Mayfield, Graves County. Beshear said the roof of a factory in Mayfield had collapsed. This is the most casualties.
There is a shortage of drinking water in the area. A state of emergency was declared in the affected areas on Friday night.
At least 24 hurricanes have recently swept across the five U.S. states of Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee.
