The United States has announced that it will lift sanctions on eight countries

The British Daily Guardian quoted the White House as saying. Countries lifting sanctions include South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Isoatini, Mozambique and Malawi.

Foreigners who have been barred from entering the United States for the previous 14 days in any of the six African countries will no longer be barred from entering the United States from 12 midnight on 31 December.

White House spokesman Kevin Munoz said temporary sanctions were being lifted on six South African countries. It will be implemented from December 31.

“These restrictions have given us time to understand Omicron,” he said. As we know, our current vaccine is effective against Omicron. Especially taking booster dose can provide protection from the severity of the disease.

The Biden administration has also said that travelers from African countries will not be affected by the rise in corona infections in the United States. This new type of corona was identified last November. Then on November 29, the United States imposed a travel ban on African countries.
