The death toll from a powerful cyclone Rye has risen to 206.

If you look at it from a distance, you will see only rubble. Landabhand Siargao Island in the storm. Last Thursday (December 16) a powerful cyclone Rye hit the tourist-dependent island of the Philippines.

The storm caused extensive damage in the area. The communication system is broken. The whole island is still without electricity. The Philippine National Disaster Management Agency said the storm had affected several neighboring provinces, in addition to Siargao.

The rescue operation is continuing. About a thousand members of the army, police and Coast Guard fire service are working. The bodies of several people were also recovered on Sunday. Authorities fear the death toll could rise as more people are still missing.

Meanwhile, the locals are still not able to forget the severity of the storm. They are in danger of landslides and floods. Various areas are still submerged due to rains caused by the storm. The local people are worried that the crop is being severely damaged. Freshwater crisis has also occurred in several areas.

Members of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society came to the rescue of the victims. The two agencies are helping those who have lost everything due to the storm. Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said the government was working to provide adequate assistance to the victims.

He said there is a budget for the epidemic. However, we are raising more money for the storm, which will be distributed to the victims.
